Google has just acquired eBook Technologies , according to a notice that is currently appearing on the company’s homepage. Google confirmed the acquisition, with a spokesperson giving us this statement: “We are happy to welcome eBook Technologies’ team to Google

Chrome, Chrome OS Updated With First “Elite” Bug Squashed

As part of their effort to speed up release cycles , Google no longer likes to acknowledge in a big way when they update Chrome. They’re simply doing it too often for it to mean much. But today they’ve taken a bit of time to  acknowledge an update to both Chrome and Chrome OS, in part because they were able to quash a big bug

Brazil’s Peixe Urbano, a Groupon-type startup founded by the former Brazilian country manager for Facebook Julio Vasconcellos , launched in mid 2010 (we first wrote about them in March 2010).

First Amazon Took Down Booksellers….Are Publishers Next?

It’s not that Amazon set out to destroy small book stores. They just offered a better option for a large number of people. Now, Amazon is increasingly offering small features here and there that taken together may start to make a traditional publisher a lot less necessary for authors.
